Welcome to my blog!

Today I would like to share with you my thoughts on Depression & Other Magic Tricks poetry book writen by Sabrina Beniam.

I got this book for free on NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I loved this poetry book, there were a lot of poems I could relate to and really feel them. Reading this book made me feel like there are bits and pieces of myself in a lot of the poems. It was also a very emotional book, at least for me.

There were times when I did not like the writing style that much so I decided to give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Here are some of my favourite poems and quotes from this book:

“Mom, my depression is a sharpe shifter; one day it is as small as a firefly in the palm of a bear, the next day, it’s the bear. those days I play dead until the bear leaves me alone.”

“I call the bad days the dark days. Mom says try lightning candles”

“Anxiety holds me hostage inside of my house, inside of my head.”

Goodreads rating: 4.12/5 🌟
